IAM Security Architect

Blue Rose Consulting Group, Inc. (Blue Rose) is seeking an IAM Security Architect to lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and compliant Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) solutions for a federal customer. This senior role is central to modernizing legacy identity systems, shaping strategic ICAM roadmaps, and aligning enterprise architectures with federal security mandates, including FICAM and NIST guidelines.
You will drive architectural decision-making, guide technical teams, and ensure identity services uphold the highest standards of security, interoperability, and mission readiness.
What You’ll Do
As an IAM Security Architect, you will:
Develop enterprise ICAM architectures that align with agency modernization goals and federal security requirements.
Design frameworks for identity lifecycle management, authentication, authorization, and credential governance.
Integrate ICAM solutions into new and existing applications across on-premises and cloud environments.
Support the migration of legacy identity systems and leverage tools such as Okta, SailPoint, and CyberArk.
Create technical standards, integration patterns, and blueprints to support consistent and scalable implementations.
Collaborate with stakeholders to shape strategic ICAM roadmaps and modernization plans.
Produce architecture diagrams, design documents, and runbooks to support planning and execution efforts.
Lead technical working groups, mentor junior engineers, and provide architectural oversight throughout delivery.
Research emerging ICAM technologies, standards, and best practices for future adoption.
Schedule & Shift Details
Full-time (40 hours/week)
Onsite support in Washington, D.C.
Requirements
U.S. Citizenship required
Public Trust clearance required or higher
10+ years of experience designing and delivering ICAM solutions
Bachelor’s and Master’s degree required;
Bachelor’s may be substituted with an additional 4 years of related experience
Master’s may be substituted with an additional 2 years of related experience
Bachelor’s must be in Computer Science unless candidate has substantial programming/computer engineering experience
Expertise in identity management, authentication, authorization, credential management, and identity governance (IGA)
Proficiency with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, and FIDO
Experience with cloud identity solutions such as AWS IAM or Azure AD (highly desirable)
Strong understanding of Zero Trust architecture principles
Ability to analyze complex environments, solve technical challenges, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
