Blue Rose Consulting Group, Inc. (Blue Rose) is seeking an experienced Application Developer skilled in Java and Spring Boot to support modernization initiatives for a federal education client. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable software systems that enhance performance, reliability, and long-term sustainability.

What You’ll Do
As an Application Developer, you will:

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Translate functional and business requirements into technical specifications and efficient code.
• Architect and implement solutions that align with system constraints and scalability needs.
• Develop and execute unit, integration, and system-level testing to ensure high code quality.
• Partner with DevOps teams to streamline deployment pipelines and ensure successful releases.
• Document code, APIs, and architectural components for effective knowledge sharing.
• Participate in peer code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across all stages of the software development lifecycle.
• Modernize legacy systems by migrating from Java 8 to Java 21 and leveraging enhanced language capabilities.

Schedule, Salary & Shift Details

• Full-time (40 hours/week)
• Hybrid in San Antonio, TX; support during Central business hours
• Salary: 115K

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required (Dual Citizens acceptable)
• Public Trust clearance required or higher
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in software development and enterprise applications
• Demonstrated experience with:
  • Java – 3–5 years
  • Spring Boot – 3–5 years
