Make an Impact Where It Matters Most

Blue Rose Consulting Group, Inc. (Blue Rose) is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) – DevSecOps / Container Security to support a federal client in securing modern, cloud-based application environments.

This role requires a senior-level engineer with 6+ years of DevOps / DevSecOps experience and at least 2 years of technical leadership experience, supporting mission-critical federal systems. The focus is on securing containers, Kubernetes orchestration platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS cloud infrastructure, while guiding teams on secure DevOps best practices.

You will collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure security is embedded throughout the DevOps lifecycle and federal compliance standards are consistently met.


What You’ll Do

As a Subject Matter Expert – DevSecOps / Container Security, you will:

  • Design, implement, and manage security practices across containerized application environments

  • Secure Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration platforms in production environments

  • Implement and support CI/CD pipeline security to enable safe and reliable software delivery

  • Apply, monitor, and enforce container security controls, policies, and scanning solutions

  • Support and harden AWS cloud security configurations, including IAM and workload security

  • Use Bash scripting and automation to support security and operational tasks

  • Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to define and enforce secure DevOps standards

  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and subject matter guidance to engineering teams

  • Support compliance, audit, and risk management efforts within a regulated federal environment


Schedule & Work Model

  • Full-time (40 hours/week)

  • On-site support required in Washington, DC


Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, Cloud Engineering, or Container Security

  • 2+ years of technical leadership experience, such as:

    • Acting as a technical lead or senior engineer

    • Mentoring junior or mid-level engineers

    • Owning container, CI/CD, or cloud security standards

  • Hands-on experience with:

    • Docker and containerized application platforms

    • Kubernetes or container orchestration technologies

    • Container security concepts, tools, and best practices

    • CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows

    • AWS cloud security services and configurations

    • Bash scripting or similar automation tools

  • Experience supporting federal, government, or other regulated environments


Clearance & Citizenship

  • Public Trust clearance required or ability to obtain

  • U.S. Citizens or Dual Citizens only
