Blue Rose Consulting Group, Inc. (Blue Rose) is a certified HUBZone and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business supporting Federal customers with mission-focused technology, professional services, and operational support. We are building a team for the anticipated Department of State Global Mission Operations Support (GMOS) effort supporting the Bureau of Diplomatic Technology, Enterprise Applications Directorate, Office of Consular Systems and Technology.
Provide enterprise database administration, Tier II/Tier III support, performance tuning, backup and recovery, replication, migration, deployment, and modernization support for mission-critical Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server environments. This position supports the Department of State Consular Affairs global information technology environment, which includes domestic and overseas facilities, on-premises infrastructure, cloud platforms, applications, databases, and enterprise support services. This is a contingent position based on contract award and final customer requirements.
• Administer, monitor, tune, patch, upgrade, and troubleshoot Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases across production and non-production environments.
• Support Oracle Exadata, Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance, Oracle SOA Suite, enterprise service bus components, and related engineered database systems.
• Perform onsite and remote backups, restores, replication validation, standby builds, disaster recovery support, and data-integrity testing.
• Execute and verify database deployments, DDL/DML scripts, configuration changes, releases, and migrations in coordination with application and engineering teams.
• Monitor distributed transactions, message queues, data-share health, partner-agency connections, and internal database/application processes.
• Automate recurring maintenance, diagnostic health checks, password-management, deployment, monitoring, and reporting activities where feasible.
• Maintain database SOPs, knowledge articles, security controls, performance reports, and ticket records in accordance with Department standards.
• 5+ years of Oracle database administration experience.
• 3+ years of Microsoft SQL Server administration experience.
• Experience with replication, backup and recovery, performance tuning, patching, upgrades, migrations, and production troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical database environments.
• Working knowledge of database security, scripting, monitoring, and change-management practices.
• Active Secret clearance; certain assignments may require Top Secret.
• Experience with Oracle Exadata, ZDLRA, SOA Suite, ESB, CCD, or cloud database migrations.
• Oracle, Microsoft, or cloud-platform certification.
• Experience supporting Department of State or interagency data-sharing environments.
