Blue Rose Consulting Group, Inc. We are building a team for the anticipated Department of State Global Mission Operations Support (GMOS) effort supporting the Bureau of Diplomatic Technology, Enterprise Applications Directorate, Office of Consular Systems and Technology.
Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize LAN, WAN, VLAN, firewall, load-balancing, and remote-site connectivity supporting the Department of States global consular mission. This position supports the Department of State Consular Affairs global information technology environment, which includes domestic and overseas facilities, on-premises infrastructure, cloud platforms, applications, databases, and enterprise support services. This is a contingent position based on contract award and final customer requirements.
Configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and document routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, remote-access devices, LANs, VLANs, cabling, and network-monitoring components.
Support WAN connectivity for domestic and overseas locations in coordination with Department network providers and remote-site personnel.
Administer and troubleshoot Palo Alto next-generation firewalls, F5 BIG-IP services, CA API Gateway, and firewall rules supporting applications and interagency connectivity.
Analyze network logs, utilization, latency, bandwidth, and outage trends and recommend proactive upgrades or configuration improvements.
Perform diagnostic testing across LAN, WAN, cloud, and network components and restore connectivity during incidents, moves, maintenance, or continuity events.
Develop and maintain network diagrams, rack elevations, wiring plans, floor plans, IP documentation, outage records, and Telecommunications Service Requests.
Log all incidents and changes, participate in design reviews, and coordinate with engineering, security, and Government stakeholders.
5+ years of network operations experience supporting LAN, WAN, VLAN, MPLS, and enterprise connectivity.
Hands-on experience with Cisco routers/switches, Palo Alto firewalls, F5 BIG-IP, or comparable technologies.
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, firewalls, network protocols, and troubleshooting.
Experience with network monitoring, log analysis, documentation, preventive maintenance, and change control.
Ability to support shift work, after-hours maintenance, and emergency response as required.
Active Secret clearance; certain assignments may require Top Secret.
CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, Palo Alto, F5, or equivalent certification.
Experience supporting interagency connectivity, DMZs, cloud networking, or global Federal networks.
Experience with Cisco ISE, Splunk, automation, or AI-driven network monitoring.
