Configuration/Change Management Specialists

We are building a team for the anticipated Department of State Global Mission Operations Support (GMOS) effort supporting the Bureau of Diplomatic Technology, Enterprise Applications Directorate, Office of Consular Systems and Technology.

About the Role

Support the full lifecycle of configuration and change management for enterprise infrastructure and applications, including CMDB accuracy, automated discovery, baseline control, change governance, audit readiness, and reporting. This position supports the Department of State Consular Affairs global information technology environment, which includes domestic and overseas facilities, on-premises infrastructure, cloud platforms, applications, databases, and enterprise support services. This is a contingent position based on contract award and final customer requirements.

What You’ll Do

• Develop, maintain, and execute the Configuration/Change Management Plan in alignment with ITIL and Department requirements.

• Record, track, monitor, reconcile, and update configuration items, relationships, settings, components, and baselines in the approved C/CM system or CMDB.

• Use automated discovery and master-data-management techniques to reconcile observed configurations with approved baselines.

• Prepare and present change requests to the Change Management Control Board, including impact analysis, risk assessment, implementation, rollback, and validation plans.

• Support emergency changes, post-implementation reviews, audits, baseline-drift analysis, and corrective actions.

• Maintain system and application baseline documentation, designs, build procedures, requirements, test procedures, problem reports, and knowledge resources.

• Produce regular metrics and reports on change success, configuration compliance, baseline drift, and C/CM process performance.

Minimum Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in ITIL-aligned configuration management, change management, or combined C/CM roles.

• Experience maintaining CMDBs and configuration-item relationships; ServiceNow experience is preferred.

• Experience with automated discovery, baseline reconciliation, impact analysis, risk assessment, and change governance.

• Knowledge of Change Management Control Board processes and emergency change procedures.

• Strong technical documentation, audit, reporting, and stakeholder-coordination skills.

• Active Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• ITIL Foundation, ServiceNow, configuration-management, or change-management certification.

• Experience supporting Federal enterprise infrastructure and applications.

• Experience with master data management, automated discovery, and compliance reporting.
